You asked, we listened – New Features from All Homes Leaflet Distribution

on

When our Managing director, Trevor Carthy, signed-off the roadmap for the development of All Homes Leaflet Distribution, he reminded us what matters most: listening to current and potential customers like you while incessantly pursuit customer service excellence.

Our goal is to make it incredibly easy and profitable for you, through leaflet advertising, to have a successful business, brand, service and product. We can’t do that without your feedback, which is why we listen to you in diverse ways, like through customer feedback, online reviews, at face-to-face meetups in yours or our offices, and during market research.

At All Homes, we take this opportunity to announce new features, services, and expansions, so we can get closer to your demands and expectations, after all, there must be a clear difference between a market leader and a market not.

Allhomes.ie improved privacy, security and encryption.

We all know privacy, security and data protection is essential nowadays, All Homes have secured our website with the best in class HTTPS to protect our identity, our website and our users.

What is HTTPS?

HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is an internet communication protocol that protects the integrity and confidentiality of data between your computer and our website. Users expect a secure and private online experience when using a website.

Data sent using HTTPS is secured via Transport Layer Security protocol (TLS), which provides three key layers of protection:

  1. Encryption
Encrypting the exchanged data to keep it secure from eavesdroppers. That means that while the user is browsing a website, nobody can “listen” to their conversations, track their activities across multiple pages, or steal their information.
  2. Data integrity
Data cannot be modified or corrupted during transfer, intentionally or otherwise, without being detected.
  3. Authentication
Proves that your users communicate with the intended website. It protects against man-in-the-middle attacks and builds user trust, which translates into other business benefits.

There are other benefits, though, including the Google ranking boost, reliability and preventing unsecured connection warnings as preannounced by major web browsers.

What we’ve got…True BusinessID with EV by Geo Trust, more info, specs, requirements and jargon here: https://www.geotrust.com/support/true-businessid/ev-validation-requirements/

Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificates are issued only when a Certification Authority (CA) checks to make sure that the applicant actually has the right to the specific domain name plus the CA conducts a very THOROUGH vetting (investigation) of the organization.

The issuance process of EV Certificates is standardized and is strictly outlined in the EV Guidelines, which was created at the CA/Browser Forum in 2007, specifies the required steps that a CA must do before issuing an EV certificate:

  1. Must verify the legal, physical & operational existence of the entity
  2. Must verify that the identity of the entity matches official records
  3. Must verify that the entity has the exclusive right to use the domain specified in the EV Certificate
  4. Must verify that the entity has properly authorized the issuance of the EV Certificate

If you have a website, I encourage you to adopt HTTPS in order to protect your brand and users’ connections to your website, regardless of the content on the site.

As announced by Google, nonsecure websites will present various warnings, you have until July 2018 to Install SSL or Google Chrome and other browsers will mark your site “Not Secure”: https://security.googleblog.com/2018/02/a-secure-web-is-here-to-stay.html

What Does It Mean to Be “Not Secure” and what are the Consequences?

This change in the way browsers flags non-HTTPS sites is more than a simple visual change. It’s actually a real paradigm shift, a shift that implies the de-facto connection standard is now becoming HTTPS and using a non-encrypted HTTP connection is no longer the way to go.

It used to be acceptable to have your webpage load over HTTP, and only make sure to submit the form using HTTPS. However, this has always been a risk since an attacker could intercept the plain text page and change the form before submission. Now going forward, if you use this approach your users will be warned as if the entire transaction is insecure.

The changes won’t stop there. Future versions of Firefox and Chrome claim to eventually include the warning next to all HTTP websites, no matter which features your website will provide.

If you haven’t switched to HTTPS yet, now it’s a good time to consider it.
